Pawan Kalyan speaks out regarding the Pushpa 2 production following Allu Arjun's arrest in relation to the stampede tragedy incident.
The tragic stampede incident that took place on December 4, 2024, at the Sandhya 70MM theatre in Hyderabad during the special premiere screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule has been a topic of discussion. The incident resulted in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and critically injured her 8-year-old son, Sri Tej.
Allu Arjun, the lead actor in Pushpa 2, was briefly arrested and later released on interim bail following the incident. The theatre management and his security team were also booked under relevant sections of the law. Despite the legal proceedings, the team's primary response was to support the family affected by the tragedy.
The Telangana government's handling of the case has been under scrutiny, with comments from various figures in the entertainment industry. Pawan Kalyan, the founder of Janasena, has made comments on the incident and the subsequent controversy. He termed the death of Revathi and Sri Tej's hospitalization as "a very painful episode" and suggested that the producers, director, or anyone from the team should have visited the victim's home to express condolences and show support. Kalyan believes that such a visit could have prevented the incident from becoming a larger issue.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also commented on the incident, expressing his condolences to the family. However, he noted that the law does not give preferential treatment to anyone, including himself.
Tammareddy Bharadwaj, a Telugu filmmaker, spoke out about the Allu Arjun controversy related to the Pushpa 2 stampede case. Bharadwaj slammed Allu Arjun in his comments, criticising the lack of immediate action from the team following the incident.
