Pauline Ferrand-Prevot triumphs in the Tour de France Femmes and shares future ambitions for the year 2025

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, the victor of the historic 2025 Tour de France Femmes, has announced her plans for the remainder of this year and her ambitions for the 2026 Tour de France.

Goals for the Remaining Part of 2025:

Following her triumphant win at the Visma-Lease a Bike headquarters in the Netherlands, Ferrand-Prévot has been celebrating her Tour de France Femmes victory. She will continue to enjoy this success by participating in the European Championships in France in early October, which will serve as a goal close to home and allow her to savour her victory while recovering [1].

In a surprising move, Ferrand-Prévot has decided not to compete in the World Championships in Rwanda this year, opting instead to focus on recovery and preparation for future goals [1].

Plans for the 2026 Tour de France:

Ferrand-Prévot has confirmed her intention to target the Tour de France again in 2026. Initially, she had expressed reservations about competing due to the demands of training and racing, but she has now committed to defending her title [1].

To prepare for this challenge, Ferrand-Prévot has been training at altitude in Andorra, a strategic move to enhance her performance in the Grand Tour events [2]. This dedication is further demonstrated by her recent three-year contract with Visma-Lease a Bike, signed with the goal of winning the Tour de France [3].

Ferrand-Prévot, who already boasts two European mountain bike titles, an Olympic gold medal, a Tour de France Femmes win, and 12 elite World Champion titles, has not mentioned any plans to target the Tour de France again in 2025. However, her long-term commitment to the sport and her recent statements indicate a strong determination to succeed in the 2026 edition.

The 2026 Tour de France will see the women's elite road race start in Privas and finish in Guilherand-Granges, with a local loop featuring punchy climbs, including the Col du Mouin a Vent. Ferrand-Prévot, who enjoys the relationship with the public at the Tour de France, will no doubt be inspired by the support of the crowds as she aims to defend her title.
