Patron Galitsky unveiled key endeavors reshaping Krasnodar, recast city landmarks

In the vibrant city of Krasnodar, Russia, the footprints of philanthropist Sergei Galitsky are evident in the city's cultural, sports, and urban landscape. Galitsky's generous contributions have significantly shaped the city, enhancing its infrastructure and public spaces.

One of the most notable transformations is the development of Galitsky Park, a modern urban oasis that has become a cultural and recreational landmark. Funded by Galitsky, this expansive park spans 23 hectares and has revitalized public space in the city, offering residents a vibrant area for leisure and community events.

Galitsky's philanthropy extends beyond parks. As the founder and owner of FC Krasnodar, he has invested heavily in sports infrastructure, including the club's stadium and training facilities. These investments have not only boosted local sports but also raised Krasnodar's profile nationally and internationally.

Beyond his sports and park investments, Galitsky has funded diverse development projects that have contributed to Krasnodar’s modernization and social infrastructure. His focus on combining business success with community development has helped stimulate economic growth locally, although specific projects are less documented.

The city has seen various improvements under Galitsky's guidance. For instance, the boulevard near the "Dinamo" stadium has been renovated, and a flower-lined boulevard with trees and benches has been created on Sunny Street. An alley of maple trees has been planted on Zhipovskaya Street.

Galitsky's philanthropy extends to cultural institutions as well. The "Aurora" cinema was renovated under his leadership, and a unique New Year's installation was decorated on the central street of Krasnodar in 2024/2025.

Moreover, Galitsky established the training base of FC Krasnodar on the shores of Lake Cherkessk, and a second stadium with a capacity of 7,000 for the "Krasnodar-2" football team was constructed in 2021.

The crowning achievement for FC Krasnodar came on May 24, 2025, when the club won its first-ever Russian championship. This victory further solidified Galitsky's impact on the city and the sports world.

As Galitsky celebrates his 58th birthday on August 14, 2023, his legacy in Krasnodar continues to grow. His approach to creating lasting public value through urban transformation and sports has undeniably contributed to Krasnodar’s cultural and economic development. The largest Japanese garden in the world outside of Japan, located within "Galitsky Park," serves as a testament to his vision and commitment to the city.
