Patriotic Event 'Lesson of Courage' Honors Varlamovs' Military Sacrifice
A patriotic event, 'Lesson of Courage', took place at the 'Rythm' rural cultural center in Yakutia. The event was organized with the support of Tuayana Makarova, the social coordinator of the 'Defenders of the Fatherland' state fund branch in the region. It was attended by schoolchildren and the father-and-son duo of Varlamovs, both participants in a special military operation.
The event saw schoolchildren engaging with the Varlamovs, asking about soldiers' daily life, modern weapons, and frontline camaraderie. Stanislav Varlamov, a veteran of combat operations, shared his experiences, including his time in the 'Bakhmut meat grinder' in February 2023. He was severely wounded and later awarded the 'Black Cross' and 'For Courage' medals after eight months of recovery.
Inspired by his father's courage, Alexei Varlamov joined the military in 2024, serving as a UAV operator and earning the 'For Courage' medal from the Lugansk People's Republic. The event concluded with the schoolchildren presenting the veterans with drawings and letters, expressing their gratitude and admiration.
Stanislav Varlamov's bravery and sacrifice did not go unrecognized. In spring 2025, he was awarded the 'Father of a Soldier' medal by the 'Defenders of the Fatherland' state fund branch in Yakutia. The fund actively participates in patriotic initiatives, with this medal presentation action covering many regions of the republic. The 'Lesson of Courage' event served as a powerful reminder of the courage and sacrifice of those defending the fatherland.
