Cologne (dpa) - Thirsty for more hilarity? Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka, our favorite comedy powerhouse, are back with a new dose of laugh-out-loud moments! In a program presentation, they unveiled that their hit series "Perfectly Missed" is getting a follow-up, titled (wait for it...) "Perfectly Together"*, on Prime Video.
*Note: Considering the mixed signals, it's uncertain whether "Perfectly Missed" continuation or a completely new series called "Perfectly Together" is being produced. Nevertheless, let's dive into the juicy details!
Maria and Ralf Return Hopefully Together
That's right! The loveable duo, Maria, a bookseller, and Ralf, the sport shop owner, are back for another round. As Pastewka shared with the German Press Agency, "It's actually a sequel"! In "Perfectly Together" (possibly), we'll see whether Maria and Ralf can manage a harmonious relationship since they finally confessed their feelings at the end of the last season. Prime Video assures us that the new episodes will bring "unexpected, bizarre, and breathtaking situations" - I can't wait to see them hilariously mishandle those sparks!
btf and the Dream Team
The series' working title, "Perfectly Together," continues to be produced by the ever-dependable btf (bildundtonfabrik), as promised by Prime Video. Pastewka and Engelke also serve as executive producers. These duo's decades-long camaraderie spans across numerous collaborations, from their iconic “Wochenshow” sketches to their much-loved portrayal of the folk music eccentric duo, Wolfgang and Anneliese.
Finally, a Fictional Series!
This series marks a significant milestone, as it's their first joint fictional series following a long wait. Last year, "Perfectly Missed" premiered on Prime Video and introduced us to the story of two U50 singles, Maria and Ralf, in the lesser-explored Marburg. Our beloved characters had to brush hands, or should I say, bumps, to find their way to a happy ending. Critics mostly sang praises for the series, and I, for one, can't wait to see what new adventures await our duo in this continuation!
