Green Party leadership seeks conference with Youth Organization head, Jette, after contentious social media post inciting police hostility stirs controversy.

Party's stance on "All Cops Are Bastards" slogan

In the heat of debate, Green Youth Chair Jette Nietzard finds herself under scrutiny over an Instagram post donning an anti-police sweater. Party Chairwoman Franziska Brantner confirmed the party leadership's intent to collab with Nietzard, following the uproar.

This controversial post, complete with the words "On the way to the Bundestag," has evidently crossed a line. Previously, Bundestag President Julia Klöckner threatened potential repercussions, such as fines or even revoking access, in a letter sent to the Green party leaders by Bundestag Director Paul Göttke. Göttke justified the infraction, stating the sweater contradicted House rules.

Göttke advised Pegah Edalatian, the political business manager of the Greens, to enlighten Nietzard about the legal implications. He also suggested revisiting the application through which Nietzard obtained her Bundestag pass.

According to Brantner, Klöckner's letter has been duly received by Edalatian. Subsequently, Edalatian intends to discuss the matter with Nietzard. Additionally, Edalatian plans to engage in conversation with Göttke.

In her Instagram story, Nietzard was photographed wearing a "Eat the Rich" cap and an "ACAB" sweater. The phrase "Eat the rich" is popular among left-wing, anti-capitalist circles, criticizing social inequality and the rich. Meanwhile, "ACAB" stands for "All Cops Are Bastards" and is utilized in circles distant or hostile towards the police, such as left to left-wing extremist factions.

In response to the uproar, Nietzard asked, "What does Julia Klöckner find worse: ACAB sweater – Eat the rich cap?" Despite facing criticism from within the party, Nietzard stands firm, refusing to resign or issue an apology.

Brantner asserts, "This has nothing to do with Green politics, and we value the work of the police, the police officers in this country." As the controversy persists and opinions unfold, the debate about the appropriateness of Nietzard's actions becomes more heated[1][2].
