Demonstration-induced closures linked to 'Rave The Planet' gathering - Party shut down due to ongoing demonstration for a rave event.
This Saturday, the fourth edition of the Rave the Planet Techno-Parade is set to take place in Berlin, promising a lively spectacle that will attract an estimated 300,000 people. However, the event will bring significant road and subway closures, particularly in the Tiergarten area and along Straße des 17. Juni.
Starting from Friday evening, Straße des 17. Juni will be closed, with surrounding streets in the Tiergarten area following suit from Saturday morning until after midnight. The area is expected to reopen by Sunday morning. Drivers should anticipate detours and heavy traffic jams around the parade route, and there will also be closures near the Olympiastadion due to the Lollapalooza festival taking place the same weekend.
Due to the expected large crowds, the Brandenburger Tor and Bundestag subway stations could be closed on Saturday afternoon and evening. It is not confirmed if other stations will also be affected.
The parade begins at 2:00 PM on Saturday on Straße des 17. Juni between Großer Stern and Brandenburg Gate and runs until 10:00 PM. The event is registered as a demonstration, emphasising electronic music culture and political messages on unity, diversity, and sustainability.
Approximately 35 so-called floats and around 290 artists will participate in the demonstration, which carries the motto "The Future is Now". The police will accompany the event with around 1,000 officers, including officers from North Rhine-Westphalia.
The U- and S-Bahn station Brandenburg Gate was closed at noon on the day of the article due to the Rave the Planet Techno-Parade, with no trains currently stopping at the station due to safety reasons related to the event.
The Techno-Parade is associated with the Instagram account "Rave The Planet". For more information and updates, you can follow their account or visit the official website for the event.
Travelers are advised to plan for detours and avoid the area if possible during the event. We hope that this article provides a helpful guide for navigating the city during this exciting weekend in Berlin.
