Madison resident Jason Hoke has been chosen to judge at the 150th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the Westminster Kennel Club announced on Tuesday.

Madison Resident Jason Hoke to Judge 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Jason Hoke, a resident of Madison, has been selected as a judge for the 150th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. This prestigious event will take place on Feb. 2-3 in New York City, featuring over 3,000 dogs from around the world.

Hoke's judging career began in the Junior Showmanship category, and his experience extends to the Sporting, Hound, Toy, and Non-Sporting Group categories. He has judged canine competitions in 42 countries, in addition to Westminster, making him a highly respected figure in the dog-showing world.

Hoke has attended the Westminster Dog Show multiple times since the 1980s and has judged the event four prior times, including this year, making it his fifth time as a Westminster judge. His judging experience at Westminster includes the Junior Showmanship category, as well as the Sporting, Hound, Toy, and Non-Sporting Group categories.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is presented by Purina Pro Plan. The Best in Show winner will be crowned on the 3rd at Madison Square Garden. Information about the event and tickets can be found on the Westminster Kennel Club's official website (www.westminsterkennelclub.org).

In addition to his judging career, Hoke has experience breeding German Shepherds, Great Danes, Pekingese, Wirehaired Dachshunds, and Maltese dogs. This year's event will also feature a guest judge, Iain McKellar, who previously gained his dog breeding experience in Scotland.
