Parship Survey: Singles in Austria Mix Independence and Family Reliance
A recent survey by Parship has shed light on the living situations of singles in Austria. The findings reveal a mix of independence and reliance on family, with a majority appreciating their surroundings and feeling secure in their homes.
The study found that only one-third of singles believe their living environment offers a lot. Despite this, 86% of singles appreciate their surroundings, indicating that personal preferences and circumstances play a significant role in satisfaction.
Living arrangements vary greatly among age groups. Notably, nearly half of young singles under 30 still live with their parents, a trend that persists among those aged 18 to 29, who are most likely to reside with their parents. This changes significantly for those aged 60 and above, with 84% living with their parents, suggesting a potential return to multigenerational living.
Among all age groups, 62% of singles live alone, with many valuing their personal space as a retreat. This independence is reflected in the high satisfaction rate, with 83% of singles content with their living situation. However, one in ten singles is a single parent living with their children, highlighting the diversity of living arrangements.
The Parship survey paints a complex picture of single life in Austria. While many singles appreciate their surroundings and feel secure in their living situations, there's a clear divide between younger generations living with their parents and older singles living independently. The majority, however, express satisfaction with their current arrangements, demonstrating the importance of personal choice and flexibility in living situations.
