Park University's International Center for Music will stage a holiday concert performance
The Park University International Center for Music (ICM) has announced a correction to the details of their upcoming holiday concert. Contrary to earlier reports, the concert will not take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, as previously stated.
Instead, the holiday celebration titled "An Intimate Christmas with the ICM" will take place on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, starting at 7:30 p.m. The location for this event is the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan.
The ICM's esteemed resident ensemble, the Park Trio, will perform at this concert. The trio features Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich on piano, Ben Sayevich on violin, and Daniel Veis on cello.
The concert program will include a blend of cherished Christmas favorites and delightful hidden gems. Selections include "Overture" and "Rejoice Greatly" from Messiah, "Fantasia" on 'Greensleeves,' "Maria Wiegenlied" ("Mary's Lullaby"), "O Holy Night," "German Dance No. 3, K. 605" ("Sleigh Ride"), Interlude from "Ceremony of Carols," "The Skaters Waltz," "Radetzky March," and selected holiday carols, arranged by Sir David Willcocks.
Ben Lerman, a senior majoring in music performance/violin, will conduct the piece "The Skaters Waltz."
Payton Boldt, a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in vocal performance at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, will join the orchestra as a guest soprano soloist.
