Paris’s New Automated Logistics Hub Sets 2026 Launch for CERP’s Pharmacy Coop

A new automated logistics hub is under construction in Wissous, near Paris. The facility, developed by CERP and SSI Schaefer, will replace the cooperative’s existing operations in Le Plessis-Robinson. Commissioning is set to begin in 2026, with full automation planned by 2028.

The 15,000-square-metre greenfield project will feature cutting-edge automation. At its core is an automated shuttle storage system with over 90,000 storage locations. An A-frame system, offering more than 2,900 product channels, will work alongside a pusher sorter to streamline dispatch.

SSI Schaefer’s Warehouse Control System (WAMAS) will oversee real-time coordination of material and information flows. Picking operations will follow a goods-to-person model, assisted by two piece-picking robots and advanced workstations. The hub is designed to manage around 30,000 product lines, significantly increasing throughput capacity. Beyond automation, the project includes technical support, staff training, and a spare parts management system. A computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) will also be implemented. The facility is scheduled to open in October 2026, with full automation expected by late 2027 or early 2028.

The new hub will centralise CERP’s logistics operations in a single, highly automated location. Once fully operational, it will replace the older site in Le Plessis-Robinson. The upgrade aims to improve efficiency and capacity for the pharmaceutical wholesale cooperative.
