Paris Jackson Slams Critics Over Performance on Father's Anniversary: "F-You"

Paris Jackson faces questions for requiring explanation regarding a matter. - Paris Jackson found herself in a public spotlight, addressing queries about her personal life.

Get ready for a bold showdown! Paris Jackson, 27, isn't backing down from criticism over her planned concert appearance on the very same day her pops, King of Pop Michael Jackson, passed away. On June 25th, she's set to open for Incubus at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, and some fans just can't seem to shake off their negativity.

In a heated series of Instagram stories, the musician vented, "Here we go again...Some folks are pissed." She went on to clarify, "One of the tour dates I'm supposed to go on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra just happens to be on June 25th, a date that's a total bummer for me and my family."

No Power over the Tour Schedule

Paris made it clear - as the opening act, she's not pulling the strings when it comes to scheduling. "People, listen up," she said, "When you're the first of three bands, and you're not the headliner, you don't call the shots on the date, time, or the city."

Michael Jackson left us too soon on June 25, 2009, following a deadly heart attack caused by a medication overdose. The infamous date will mark its 16th year since his departure this year.

Limited Perks as a Supporting Act

Paris explained that she won't be enjoying the same luxurious privileges as headliners. "The first of three bands doesn't get a tour bus, research-wise," she said. In the past, she rode the van when she had a band, but this time, it'll be just her acoustic guitar and her sound technician, who (spoiler alert) is also her partner, Justin Long. Paris popped the question to Long in December 2024.

Blunt Words for the Naysayers

The 27-year-old star saw the tour invitation as a generous gesture from Incubus and didn't hesitate to call out her critics. "It feels like they're doing me a solid by taking me on tour," she said sarcastically, before suggesting that she should bail on the performance. "Should I tell them, 'Sorry, folks, we can't perform on that date?'" she asked, finishing off with a blunt "F-you" to her critics.

Paris' participation in Incubus' "Morning View + The Hits Tour" was officially announced in March. "Stoked to have @parisjackson joining us on tour," Incubus shared on Instagram at the time. "Can't wait to see y'all there!"

[1] Fans believe Paris should have chosen not to perform on such a sensitive date out of respect for her father’s memory.[4] Paris clarified that she does not have control over the tour dates as she is not the headlining act. She also highlighted that she does not enjoy the same level of accommodations as headliners.

Paris, following criticism for her planned concert appearance on the same day as Michael Jackson's passing, stood her ground by pointing out that she has no control over the tour schedule as she is not the headlining act and doesn't enjoy the same perks as headliners, regardless of the sensitive date being the anniversary of her father's death. This situation, involving the daughter of a legendary celebrity and her participation in the entertainment industry, highlights the complexities and expectations surrounding celebrities in the music industry.
