Paris Fashion Week 2026: Eco-Conscious, History-Inspired, Star-Studded

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 kicked off on 29th September, promising a star-studded, eco-conscious, and history-inspired event. The longest Paris Fashion Week to date, it runs until 7th October, showcasing 80s power dressing, world-first sustainable materials, and highly anticipated designer debuts.

Saint Laurent started the week with a bang, presenting under the Eiffel Tower. The show featured 80s power dressing with sharp shoulders, leather separates, and XXL sunglasses. Anthony Vaccarello, the creative director, also introduced knot-front blouses, high-neck collars, and crystal-encrusted ears for a cave-like effect.

Stella McCartney's show opened with Dame Helen Mirren reciting The Beatles' 'Come Together'. Her collection was a testament to sustainability, with 98% conscious, 100% cruelty-free materials. She introduced FEVVERS, a plant-based vegan alternative to feathers, and PURE.TECH, a pollutant-neutralizing material used in denim.

Louis Vuitton celebrated 'the art of living' in the Louvre. The collection included modern pieces inspired by history, such as ruffle- and fur-trimmed jackets and sculptural dresses.

Lanvin's show was a love letter to blue, with variations of the color covering the show space and appearing throughout the collection.

This year's Paris Fashion Week is particularly exciting due to several hotly anticipated designer debuts. Jonathan Anderson takes the helm at Dior, Matthieu Blazy at Chanel, and Pierpaolo at Balenciaga.

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 is proving to be a blend of nostalgia and innovation, with a strong focus on sustainability. With world-first materials, iconic debuts, and historic inspirations, this year's event is set to leave a lasting impression on the fashion world.
