In an exciting turn of events, acclaimed actor Timothée Chalamet is set to take on his first major action role in the upcoming motocross heist film, "High Side." Directed by James Mangold, the film promises a thrilling blend of high-speed action and intense drama.

"High Side" follows the story of Billy, a former motocross racer who's haunted by a career-ending crash and family troubles. Recruited by his estranged brother, Billy finds himself in the midst of a bank-robbing operation on superbikes. The story unfolds as a mismatched crew conducts precise bank robberies amid the pressure of an FBI agent closing in, culminating in a high-stakes bank job timed with a motorcycle parade.

The film has been described as a unique amalgamation of "Heat" and "Hell or High Water," owing to its mix of intense heist elements, character-driven drama, and the dynamics of a criminal crew pursued by law enforcement. Like its cinematic predecessors, "High Side" delves into themes of family, loyalty, and crime, but with the added adrenaline of motocross racing and high-speed action on superbikes.

James Mangold, known for his work on films like "Ford v Ferrari" and "Logan," will bring depth and intensity to this genre blend. The script is adapted from an unpublished short story by Jaime Oliveira, and the production is being overseen by Mangold, Peter Chernin, and David Ready from Chernin Entertainment.

Chernin Entertainment, which has previously collaborated with Mangold on films such as "Ford v Ferrari" and "The Greatest Showman," is producing "High Side." Paramount Pictures, who recently closed the Skydance merger and acquired a heist feature titled "High Side," will be co-producing the film.

Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein have expressed their commitment to championing bold, original storytelling, and "High Side" seems to be a testament to that commitment. The film is part of Paramount's strategy to release 12-14 theatrical films per year, following the success of their Q2 performance.

With more casting announcements expected soon, "High Side" is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of Timothée Chalamet and action-packed heist films. Chalamet, who won the SAG lead actor award for A Complete Unknown, expressed his pursuit of greatness and ambition to be one of the greats, making "High Side" an exciting addition to his impressive filmography.

The upcoming film "High Side", directed by James Mangold, promises an entertaining blend of intense heist elements, character-driven drama, and motorcycle racing action, making it a must-watch for fans of entertainment genres. "High Side" is set to showcase Timothée Chalamet in a major action role, further enriching his diverse career and contributing to the movies-and-tv industry.
