Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has dropped her latest solo album, titled Ego, with a unique twist - purchasing from her haircare brand is required to obtain it.
Hayley Williams, the vocalist of Paramore, has stepped into a new era as a wholly independent artist, following the fulfilment of her contract with Warner/Atlantic Records. In May, she released a collaborative single, "I Like It I Like It," with American singer/songwriter Moses Sumney. Now, she has unveiled her much-anticipated solo album, "Ego."
This unique album, distributed exclusively through the mailing list of Williams' hair brand, Good Dye Young, offers a direct fan engagement experience. To gain access to purchase and download the 17-track album, fans must subscribe to the Good Dye Young mailing list, which is the only official channel to obtain the album.
The album includes tracks such as "Mirtazapine," "Negative Self Talk," "Kill Me," and "Glum," among others. The live premiere of "Mirtazapine" took place when Williams guested with Bleachers at the Newport Folk Festival on July 25.
The album is not available on streaming services or in record stores. Instead, purchasers receive a 16-digit access code via email to download the song files. The song "Mirtazapine" was previously premiered by a Nashville radio station.
The track list for "Ego" is as follows:
- Mirtazapine
- Negative Self Talk
- Kill Me
- Glum
- BloodBros
- True Believer

In a move that blends her music with her entrepreneurial brand, Williams' album is no longer widely distributed through traditional platforms or her official website. It has been reported that "Ego" has been removed from hayleywilliams.net. Consequently, the mailing list subscription remains the primary legal way to buy and download the album.
Williams has also contributed guest vocals to the song "Seein' Stars" on the new Turnstile record, Never Enough. With this release, Williams continues to demonstrate her versatility and commitment to her music, even in her new independent role.
