In the ongoing crisis in Gaza, the international community has shown a unified stance against Israel's military actions and policies. The Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, has been vocal in her calls for action, describing the situation as "nothing but a genocide."

Aghabekian Shahin has criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposal for a "peaceful civilian administration" in Gaza, stating that the PLO has the legal and political authority on Gaza. She has also emphasized the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibility and stop the impunity with which Israel is operating.

The international community has broadly condemned Israel's actions in Gaza. On July 21, 2025, a joint statement by several foreign ministers called for an immediate end to the war, condemning Israel's restrictive aid delivery, civilian deaths, and urging compliance with international humanitarian law. They appealed for hostages held by Hamas to be released and condemned proposals for forced displacement of Palestinians.

Algeria strongly condemned Israeli plans to militarily reoccupy Gaza and forcibly displace its population, calling on the UN Security Council to intervene and halt what it terms a genocidal war. Algeria reaffirmed the importance of the two-state solution and the Palestinian right to statehood with East Jerusalem as its capital.

A joint statement by foreign ministers of 31 Arab and Muslim countries denounced Israeli policies in Gaza and the West Bank, including annexation, settlement expansion, and attacks on holy sites. They reiterated the need for an immediate ceasefire, unconditional humanitarian access, and the lifting of the blockade on Gaza, describing Israeli actions as crimes of aggression and ethnic cleansing.

Canada acknowledged Israel’s recent decision to unblock some aid deliveries but urged sustained, large-scale humanitarian access. The Canadian Foreign Minister called for an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages by Hamas, and expressed support for humanitarian efforts including a Jordanian corridor for aid transfer.

A joint statement by Foreign Ministers of several Western countries and the EU on August 8, 2025, condemned Israel’s plan for a large-scale military operation in Gaza as worsening humanitarian suffering and risking illegal displacement. They urged an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages. They also warned against annexation or settlement expansion as violations of international law and called for the continuation of a negotiated two-state solution.

Israel's plans to seize Gaza City have drawn global condemnation. Palestinians have rejected the forced displacement, and human rights groups and the UN have warned of further mass casualties if the plan proceeds. The United Nations Security Council is set to convene on Sunday to discuss the escalating crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The United States, Israel's top global ally, has not commented directly on the Gaza City seizure plan, but US President Donald Trump indicated earlier this week that he would not block Israel's efforts to take control of all Gaza. Aghabekian Shahin has stated that the US must consider Palestinian rights if it wants to help reach a peace solution.

Aghabekian Shahin has not made any new statements about the ongoing situation in Gaza being a genocide, part of Israel's expansionist ideology, or the rejection of the forced displacement by Palestinians and human rights groups. She has also not mentioned any new plans for Israel to seize Gaza City, forcibly displace Palestinians, or the UN Security Council's upcoming meeting to discuss the crisis in Gaza.

However, she has stated that the current situation in Israel-Palestine will prevent peace in the region and potentially the world if the rights of the Palestinians are not respected. She has also condemned the international community's inaction in the face of escalating Israeli military and settler attacks in the occupied West Bank. The international community's response to these calls remains to be seen.

The Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, has emphasized her opinion that the international community should take action to stop Israel's military actions and policies in the war-and-conflicts zone in Gaza, as well as address the general-news issue of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposals for a civilian administration in Gaza, which she finds troubling.

In the same vein, the joint statement by foreign ministers of several Western countries and the EU has expressed an opinion on Israel's plans for a military operation in Gaza, stating that it poses a risk of worsening humanitarian suffering, illegal displacement, and violations of international law. This opinion reflects a unified stance from the international community against Israel's actions in Gaza.
