Fourth Nights of Strikes: Israel Targets Iran's Strategic Sites
Palestine responds with attacks after Israeli forces target key headquarters of the Al-Quds Brigades.
Israel has carried out strikes on Iran for the fourth consecutive night, zeroing in on command centers of surface-to-surface missiles and alleged terrorist planning sites in the heart of the country. The moves follow retaliatory attacks from Iran that left four dead and 87 injured in Israel.
According to the Israeli military, the targeted command centers in Tehran were said to be preparing terrorist attacks against the State of Israel, with the help of Iranian leadership's proxies. The Iranian side has yet to confirm the attacks.
The Al-Quds Brigades, an overseas unit of Iran's elite force responsible for covert operations, is commanded by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The military wing of the militant Palestinian organization Islamic Jihad, also known as Al-Quds Brigades, is funded by Iran.
In recent updates, it appears that the Israeli strikes were not specifically targeted at the Al-Quds Brigades, but rather strategic sites belonging to Iran. Tensions are also escalating between Israel and Syria, with rocket attacks from Syria into the Golan Heights causing concerns.
