The much-anticipated "Checkerboard Cat" festival is set to begin at the Garden of the Japanese Palace on July 11th and run for six weeks, concluding on August 24th. The festival promises an exciting lineup of over 20 acts, including Conchita Wurst, MiA., DJ Hundefriedhof, Dante Thomas, DJ Tomekk, and Graf Fidi.

For those planning to attend the opening weekend, tickets for Friday, 11th July, cost 10,00 €, while Saturday, 12th July, tickets are priced at 19,00 €. The price for Sunday, 13th July, is also 19,00 €.

The festival offers a diverse musical range, with acts performing surf and garage rock, analog and digital electro sounds, boogie woogie, hip-hop, pop sounds, and more. In addition to the main event, the festival features a free-entry Cat Café, open Wednesday to Friday from 4:00 PM and weekends from 11:00 AM.

Miau Yoga sessions are held Wednesday to Friday at 8:00 AM and weekends at 9:00 AM, except on the 23rd August. Cat Gymnastics Dance takes place Fridays at 4:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM (except 23rd August), and Sundays at 11:00 AM, separate from the festival's main event times.

However, no new information about acts or performances for the 13th July or the 3-Day Ticket has been released. For the most up-to-date information, festival-goers are advised to check the official event website, local cultural listings, or contact the Japanese Palace directly.

The festival takes place every day from Wednesday to Sunday each week, with the event starting on Friday at 4:00 PM and weekends at 12:00 PM. The festival offers a Sunday meadow church service, afternoon dance coffee, musical moderations by Falk Töpfer & The Equipment, and specially created illuminations as part of the opening weekend.
