Pakistan's Alleged Transgression Denied by India's Army in the Poonch Region of Jammu and Kashmir

In a significant development, India carried out Operation Sindoor on the night of May 9 to 10, targeting 11 Pakistani air bases. The operation was a response to Pakistan-backed terrorists who opened fire on tourists at Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam on April 22, killing 26 people.

Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan attempted to retaliate, launching drones and missiles towards India. However, India's air defence successfully thwarted the attack, leading to a four-day military conflict which ended on May 10. The ceasefire was re-established after the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian counterpart.

Since the ceasefire initiated around May 10, the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) has largely stabilized. Occasional accusations from both sides occurred early on, involving cross-border firing and drone sightings. However, by mid-May, calm had largely returned with businesses reopening in Srinagar and normalcy improving.

Despite some isolated reports of ceasefire breaches, official Indian Army statements as of early August 2025 deny any recent Pakistani violations along the LoC, including the contested August 5 incident in Poonch. The Indian Army responded to the ceasefire violation in Poonch on May 11, but subsequent reports claim there was no actual ceasefire violation on that date.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a debate on Operation Sindoor, stated that Pakistan had begged for a ceasefire. However, the ceasefire situation along the LoC has remained relatively peaceful, with serious violations reported to have ceased shortly after Operation Sindoor.

In summary, while isolated reports of ceasefire breaches have surfaced since Operation Sindoor, official Indian Army statements as of early August 2025 indicate the ceasefire largely holds with vigilance maintained. The situation along the LoC has largely stabilized, with businesses reopening and normalcy returning, suggesting that the region is moving towards a more peaceful future.

News of the Indian Army's denial of recent Pakistani violations along the Line of Control (LoC), including the August 5 incident in Poonch, have been circulating since early August 2025. In politics and general news, speculations revolve around the ceasefire situation following Operation Sindour, with the Indian Army responding to the ceasefire violation in Poonch on May 11, but claims of no actual violation on that date persist.
