Pakistani residents all depart from Bihar by the Centre's prescribed April 27 date, according to local authorities.

Get the scoop on Bihar's visa crackdown 📣

The skinny: Bihar's authorities have booted out all Pakistanis who breached the government-set immigration deadlines. By April 25, all Pakistani travelers, barring those on medical or long-term visas, had vamoosed from the state.

The province reported that no additional Pakistani nationals remained, with the exception of those on medical visas, valid till April 29, and long-term visa holders.

Bihar's officials were instructed to ensure the federal government's deadline—stemming from the Pahalgam attack—was met without a hitch.

💡Enrichment: Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack in 2025, the Indian government imposed strict immigration deadlines for Pakistani nationals. By April 26, 2025, SAARC visa holders had to skedaddle, while those in 12 other visa categories, from business to student, had to hit the road by April 27, 2025. Medical visa holders, however, were given a reprieve till April 29, 2025. For diplomatic, official, and long-term visas, the exit dates were to be determined separately by the Ministry of External Affairs. Failure to exit by these dates for the revoked visa categories would result in being labeled as overstaying foreigners, subject to imprisonment up to three years or fines of up to Rs 3 lakhs under the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025.

PS: If you're still in India on a medical or long-term visa, you're good to go until the deadlines pass. But keep an eye on those dates! 🔔
