Chaudhry did not entertain questions and curtailed the press conference immediately. The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) announced that the country's airspace would be off-limits to all forms of air traffic from 3.15 a.m. to 12 p.m., with updates to be shared at noon.
India's aggressive move comes on the heels of a deteriorating relationship and heightened animosity due to 'Operation Sindoor', a reprisal for a vicious terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives on April 22.
Located 10 kilometers from the capital, Islamabad, Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi is one of the three prime military headquarters of Pakistan, making it a significant target in this escalating proxy war.
Chaudhry asserted that such covert tactics from India are deplorable attempts to drag the region into a ruinous war, and warned India to brace itself for Pakistan's retaliation.
