ALL-NBA HONORS FOR TYRESE HALIBURTON: INDIANA PACERS GUARDS RECEIVES SECOND CONSECUTIVE AWARD

NEW YORK — Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton has once again been recognized as an All-NBA player, receiving a spot on the third team for the second straight season. This announcement was made on Friday night.

After making his first All-NBA team in the 2024 season, Haliburton struggled at the start of the 2024-25 campaign. Both the Pacers and the skilled guard faced challenges during the first month of the season. However, come December, Haliburton found his stride, leading the Pacers to a 40-17 record after the NBA Cup. This impressive stretch was marked by an average of 19.2 points and 9.6 assists per game for Haliburton.

Haliburton's return to form was evident, as his impact on the court skyrocketed and translated to victories for the Pacers. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James praised Haliburton earlier in the season, noting his ability to thrive in the fast-paced Pacers system. His performance earned him the respect of fellow players and basketball enthusiasts alike.

Joining Haliburton on the third team are Cade Cunningham, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Williams, and James Harden, while Indiana forward Pascal Siakam received four votes for the third-team All-NBA, narrowly missing out on selection.

For Haliburton, this All-NBA recognition may lead to financial gains in the future through the Designated Player Veteran Extension (DVPE), also known as a supermax contract. If Haliburton meets the criteria, such as earning All-NBA accolades in specific seasons, he would be eligible for a lucrative three-year extension. This extension would take effect after the 2029-30 season, potentially granting him a contract worth up to 35% of the salary cap for that year, compared to the standard maximum of 30%.

The Pacers and Haliburton have an opportunity to work together for an extension in a few years, which could prove to be mutually beneficial for both parties. Haliburton will have two more chances to earn All-NBA recognition, building upon his successful season and strengthening his future bargaining position.

The first season of Haliburton's five-year contract started slowly, but the recognition from the All-NBA team represents significant progress for the young guard and the Pacers' team-building strategy. The team will be looking forward to continued success with Haliburton at the helm.

Sports enthusiasts and basketball fans are buzzing about the performance of Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, who has been named to the All-NBA third team for the second consecutive season. Haliburton's impressive stats during the 2024-25 NBA season, which include an average of 19.2 points and 9.6 assists per game, have earned him this prestigious honor in the NBA.
