Czech Hockey Veteran Miroslav Forman Turns Down Offer from Dresden Ice Lions
May 30, 2025, 4:11 PM
Long-time captain Miroslav Forman, a prominent figure in the Czech Republic's hockey scene, has chosen to stay in his home country rather than accept an offer from Dresden Ice Lions in Germany. His decision was influenced by personal reasons, not financial factors.
For 20 years, Forman, a top Czech player, has scored goals for Sparta Prague. However, he will now switch to Rytiri Kladno, a club associated with hockey legend Jaromir Jagr, rather than move abroad for the first time in his career. It appears that the constant commuting to Dresden, should he have joined the German team, was a factor in his decision.
Meanwhile, the Dresden Ice Lions have announced the acquisition of Trevor Parkes, who is moving from EHC Red Bull Munich, and Alexandre Grenier, expected to join from Cologne Sharks. These signings follow those of Julius Hudacek and former NHL star Justin Braun.
The Dresden Ice Lions, who recently secured promotion to the DEL, celebrated their success and the end of a party marathon after the game. Details of the celebration and the promotion can be found in the linked video.
