Overnight, a US teenager breaks into more than a hundred cars, emerges from a body of water afterward.
Whassup! Just caught wind of some juicy news about a teen spreading chaos in Maryland, USA.
It seems like authorities nabbed a 16-year-old suspect, linking them to more than 120 car thefts that occurred on May 4, 2025. The crimes took place in Laurel and neighboring areas, with 47 reported in Laurel itself, 38 in Prince George's County, and 17 in Howard County.
The arrest took place at the suspect's Beltsville residence during an ongoing investigation. The search turned up keys to a stolen vehicle implicated in the crimes, plus keys for 25 other vehicles, and assorted stolen items.
But here's the twist—after about five hours, the suspect was back on the streets due to an order from the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services. Chief Russ Hamill, Laurel Police, weren't too happy about this decision, arguing for the suspect's detention. However, officials mentioned that the teenager had no prior criminal history, no violent past, and had no intention of fleeing.
Naturally, folks are mad. After all, committing over a hundred offenses in one swoop ain't exactly a walk in the park.
