Over thirty thousand Ukrainian soldier trainees schooled in Poland
In a significant shift, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Kyiv will no longer send its soldiers for training to other countries, instead inviting foreign military to its country for training purposes. This decision, which was made public recently, marks a change in Ukraine's approach to military training in the wake of the ongoing conflict on its territory.
The training of Ukrainian soldiers, a practice that has been prevalent, has primarily taken place on Polish territory, more than in any other country within the European Union. The details of this training were noted by the Polish Defence Minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, also known as Kosyniak-Kamyš.
Kosyniak-Kamyš has expressed his intention to discuss issues of military cooperation and support for Kyiv in future meetings. However, the exact date and location of the next meeting between Kosyniak-Kamyš and representatives of the Ukrainian government have not been disclosed yet.
The training of Ukrainian soldiers was conducted within the framework of the EU mission, as well as on the basis of bilateral relations between Ukraine and its allies. It is estimated that approximately 32,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained by Poland and its allies.
In a surprising turn of events, Zelensky has now stated that the Ukrainian state is inviting foreign military to its country for training purposes. This shift in policy could signify a new era in Ukraine's military strategy, as the country continues to navigate the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and Russia.
RIA Novosti reported Kosyniak-Kamyš's words about military cooperation and support for Kyiv, highlighting the international interest in Ukraine's military situation. As the situation evolves, it will be interesting to see how this change in policy plays out and how it may impact Ukraine's military capabilities and its relations with its allies.
