Vic's Music Fair MMVV Returns for its 37th Edition

The city of Vic is gearing up for the 37th edition of the Music Fair MMVV, set to take place from September 17 to 21. This year, the event will be under the new artistic direction of Joan Rial, Jordi Casadesús, and Rubén Pujol, who aim to continue making the MMVV an internationally renowned music fair.

The MMVV has always been a platform for live music, and this year is no exception. A total of 73 performances are scheduled, with half being Catalan proposals and the other half featuring international acts. The fair will showcase prominent Catalan musical names like La Ludwig Band, 31 FAM, and Sidonie, as well as international acts such as Maria Arnal and Jay-Jay Johanson.

The MMVV will also feature major concerts, with Mishima headlining the closing concert on Sunday, September 21, at Plaça Major. However, specific information about the artists for the closing concert could not be found. The fair will also host 38 debuts, including album, tour, live, or project debuts.

The new directors have emphasised the importance of putting the needs of the music industry and the sector at the forefront during this edition. The MMVV will present 25% state-level performances and 25% international performances, and it will also feature 6 co-productions or collaborations with other institutions or festivals.

The MMVV will kick off with Rocío Márquez's new musical project, HIMNO VERTICAL, as the inaugural concert. The fair will take place in Vic, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant music scene.

The MMVV is planning a 37th edition with a broad perspective in live music, seeking new benchmarks in the industry. The new artistic directors are excited to bring a fresh perspective to the event while maintaining its traditional values and commitment to live music. So, mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable week of music in Vic!
