Over a thousand individuals gathered at a demonstration encampment
The city has taken measures to secure the site of the "System Change Camp" with construction fences, as the tent camp began on August 14 and will continue until Tuesday. The camp, organised by various groups and individuals from the left-wing scene, including Extinction Rebellion and Attac, is focused on themes related to critique of authoritarianism and capitalism, the climate crisis, colonialism, antifascism, and activism.
Despite the city's efforts to maintain order, over 60 complaints have been received by the public order office regarding the camp. The organisers, however, have adopted a self-organised group structure with coordination through working groups such as the Programm-AG and the Seekuh-Team, rather than by named leading organisers.
The "System Change Camp" is an ongoing event, with no new information about additional groups or individuals participating in the camp at this time. The camp is scheduled to end on Tuesday, providing a platform for discussions and actions related to the core themes it addresses until then.
