Over a hundred people take part in the fourth bee run in Wersten, Düsseldorf
In the picturesque town of Wersten, the annual Bee Run took place on May 24th, marking its fourth edition. The event, which celebrates the importance of bees and the environment, attracted a large number of participants despite the unpredictable weather.
The day started off sunny, with the 5-kilometer run beginning at 10 a.m. Approximately 50 runners participated in the race, which concluded on the Wersten Green Belt on the Rott. However, the weather took a turn for the worse, and it started raining during the run. But the organizing team, showing their resilience, made the pavilions rainproof, ensuring that the event could continue without interruption.
The 10-kilometer run was initially scheduled to start shortly after the 5-kilometer race, but due to the heavy rain, it was delayed. Despite the delay, 29 runners braved the weather and completed the longer run.
The first man to cross the finish line in the 5-kilometer run was Uwe Weidenmueller, while Alina Richter was the first woman. The 10-kilometer run was won by Dirk Rauchmann, who also led the event as a whole.
