Over 800 shooters from across Asia will gather for the 16th Asian Championship shooting event
The sports world is gearing up for an exciting event, as the 16th Asian Championship in Pistol and Rifle Shooting is set to take place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan from August 16 to August 30, 2025.
This prestigious competition will bring together over 800 athletes from 26 countries, including Bahrain, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, Qatar, China, Kuwait, Malaysia, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan. The event is being organized by the Kazakhstan Shooting Sport Federation with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan, promising a spectacular showcase of athletic excellence.
The competition will span two weeks, covering a wide range of disciplines. Athletes will compete in pistol shooting events such as the 10m air pistol, 25m pistol, 50m pistol, 10m air rifle, and moving target, both individually and in teams. In addition, the event will feature skeet shooting disciplines including trap, skeet, skeet mix, trap mix, and double trap, also contested both individually and in teams.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
- Men's 10m Air Rifle qualification and final: August 21
- Women's 10m Air Rifle qualification and final: August 22
- 50m Rifle 3 Positions (Men and Women): qualifications and finals on August 24 and 26 respectively
- Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol: August 24
- Women's 10m Air Pistol: August 19
- Men's 10m Air Pistol: August 18
