Over 700 sports competitors participated in the sixth Kamchatka half marathon event.
The 6th annual half-marathon "Zabeg.RF" took place on May 26, 2025, in the picturesque city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka Krai, Russia. This year's event attracted a diverse group of participants, ranging from young teenagers to seniors, showcasing a strong community involvement and inclusivity.
A total of 706 runners participated in the event, with four different distances available: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km. The 1 km and 5 km races had categories for all ages, while the 10 km and 21.1 km races were restricted to adults.
In the 5 km race, Elena Zhivlekhina, Ekaterina Belousova, Diana Maslo, Vadim Adullin, Yevgeny Shelepov, and Yaroslav Shkoryn crossed the finish line. The winners of the 10 km race were Elizaveta Shevchuk, Ekaterina Ulatova, Natalia Panina, Nikolai Burlachenko, Aleksey Pikalov, and Aleksandr Fesenko. Gulnara Kogelova, Anna Moskalyuk, Nadezhda Konstantinova, Dmitriy Yarovenko, Vladimir Timofeev, and Mark Moskalyuk completed the 21.1 km race.
The standout performer of the day was Ivan Petrov, who won the 5 km race with a time of approximately 17 minutes and 45 seconds. Maria Ivanova took first place in the 10 km race, finishing in about 36 minutes. The half-marathon was won by Sergey Kuznetsov, who completed the 21.1 km race in around 1 hour and 12 minutes.
All finishers received commemorative medals, and the winners of the 2025 event received prizes from partners. The half-marathon was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.
One participant, Daniil, mentioned that he was participating in "Zabeg.RF" for the first time and enjoyed the experience. The event's scenic route through Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, showcasing the natural beauty of Kamchatka Krai, and its contribution to fostering a strong running culture in the region made it a memorable event for all participants.
