Over 545 million Tenge distributed to war veterans.
Take a gander at this refreshed yarn on social aid for World War II vets in Kazakhstan:
Kickin' it with the Kazakh Deputy Minister of Labor
Kicking things off at a press conference at the Presidential Central Communications Service, deputy honcho Olzhas Anafin of the Labor and Social Protection of the Population in Kazakhstan, talked turkey about the social support measures they've got cooked up for World War II vets.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory, they dropped 109 vets a one-time chunk of change totaling an eye-popping 545 million tenge. Plus, other citizens who deserve a hat-tip for helping out in WWII received a social helpin' hand, ranging from a cool 50k to a hefty 200k in tenge.
Olzhas shared the scoop that as of May 8, 2023, there's a grand total of 105 WWII vets still rockin' it in Kazakhstan, along with a mind-boggling 40,707 folks who stepped up in the war effort. Breakin' it down, you've got:
- Leningrad blockade survivors: 64 people
- Concentration camp juveniles: 129 folk
- Widows of deceased warriors with battle scars: 1,638 ladies
- Widows of fallen soldiers: 2 spouses
- Home front workers: 38,874 contributors
Let's toast to the vets, ya'll!
With an honest-to-goodness heartfelt shout-out from the Labor and Social Protection ministry, Olzhas congratulated all the vets on their 80th Victory Day anniversary. He underscored that it's everybody's duty to appreciate their nation's history, and never forget the sacrifices made by these vets who put their lives on the line –– on the front lines, and back home. Time to show 'em some love!
In light of the event, the Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan announced new political measures to honor World War II veterans, including financial support for 109 veterans and others who contributed significantly to the war effort.
