Over 300 regional organizations seek to monitor the forthcoming nationwide voting event

The Election Commission (EC) of [country] has announced that a total of 331 local organizations have applied to observe the 13th national parliamentary election, following the issuance of the Election Observation Guidelines 2025 on 17 July.

Md Ashadul Haque, the Assistant Public Relations Director of the Election Commission, confirmed this on 12 August. He stated that a 10-member committee has been formed to scrutinize these applications, and qualified non-government organizations will be registered for 5 years to observe all national and local government elections during this period[1].

Interestingly, the EC has also canceled the registration of 96 observer organizations that were registered during the previous election. These organizations were not among the 331 seeking to observe the 13th national parliamentary election. The deadline for application submission was 10 August, and the cancellations were part of the issuance of the Election Observation Guidelines 2025.

It's worth noting that 13 more organizations applied after the 10 August deadline, but they are not among the canceled organizations. The 96 canceled organizations are not included in the total of 331 organizations seeking to observe the electoral process.

The cancellations occurred on 17 July, the same day the "Election Observation Guidelines 2025" were issued by the Election Commission. The EC has not disclosed the reasons for these cancellations, but it is expected that the organizations will be given an opportunity to appeal the decision.

The 13th national parliamentary election is being observed by local organizations, and the EC is committed to ensuring a free and fair election process. The EC encourages all eligible organizations to apply for registration as election observers to contribute to the transparency and accountability of the electoral process.
