In an unusual and heartwarming display of football fandom, nearly 800 individuals, including prominent ones, have signed on the "KloppoCar," a Mini car that once belonged to Jürgen Klopp, the manager of FC Liverpool.
The "KloppoCar," which was originally bought from eBay and is now adorned with around 150 portraits and football-related motifs, has become a symbol of Klopp's life and career. Club boss Ute Groth and performance center director Marcus Italiani gathered a number of self-confident female footballers for a photo shoot at the car.
Among the first to sign the car was Ulf Kirsten, a former DDR and BRD national player. The Dresden public transport driver and artist who branded the "KloppoCar" with sheet metal had tears in his eyes when he realised that each player had signed exactly at the right portrait.
Jürgen Klopp, upon seeing the "KloppoCar" for the first time, remarked that it depicted "my whole life." However, one notable figure yet to sign is Campino, the lead singer of the German punk band Die Toten Hosen. Despite being an avid fan of the "Reds" and Klopp's friend, Campino's portrait is already finished, above the left headlight, but he has not yet recognised himself in it.
It is unclear why Campino has not signed on the "KloppoCar" yet, and there is no publicly reported reason for his absence. The "KloppoCar" team highlighted an image of a female national football player holding a coffee service during a visit to Tusa's performance center for girls' football in Düsseldorf, suggesting that the car is a tribute to women's football as well.
More than 160 players are currently training at the performance center for girls' football according to a coordinated concept. The photoshoot ended with battle cries and the realisation that the German women's footballers have collected more successful titles than the men.
As the "KloppoCar" continues to collect signatures, fans and football enthusiasts await Campino's signature in the near future.
- In the heartwarming display of football fandom, despite Ulf Kirsten, a former national player, and numerous others signing on the "KloppoCar", Campino, the lead singer of German punk band Die Toten Hosen, and a known Klopp friend, has yet to add his signature to the Mini car.
- The "KloppoCar", symbolizing Jürgen Klopp's life and career, has not only become a revered emblem for FC Liverpool supporters but also a tribute to women's football, as evidenced by the image of a female national football player holding a coffee service on the car.
