Thousands of musicians, hailing from various global locations, are participating in the Portuguese sequel of the massively scaled rock event, Rockin’1000 – The Largest Rock Band.

Over 2500 performing artists have registered for the Rockin'1000 concert in Leiria.

In the mind-blowing announcement made by MOT – Memories of Tomorrow's executive director, we learned that an astounding number of 2,500 musicians across the globe have signed up for the upcoming Rockin'1000 event! Out of these, a whopping 700 have already been selected, with a staggering 52% hailing from Portugal. As the excitement builds, Tiago Castelo Branco shared their ambitious plans to fill the remaining 300 slots with Portuguese talent, aiming to reach a breathtaking milestone of 1,000 homegrown musicians.

The Leiria Municipal Stadium, hosting the event for the second year in a row, is eagerly preparing for this musical extravaganza. Among the registered participants, the youngest is only five years old, while the oldest will be a spirited 74!

Among the event's new features for the 2025 edition is an optional fee for musicians who wish to secure priority in the selection process. For a six-month subscription, musicians can part with €75, or choose the annual subscription costing €95. However, this move has sparked some controversy among musicians.

Fabio Zaffagnini, Rockin'1000's founder, ensured that participation in the event remains free of charge. He clarified that the membership program is simply a way for music enthusiasts to support the project and help it grow, with benefits for those who choose to sign up. As of now, among the 1,000 musicians set to participate in 2025, 30% of the internationals and 70% of the registered Portuguese musicians are members, enjoying the added perks.

By mid-August, all musicians for the vocal, guitar, piano, bass, and drum sections will be chosen. With a projected audience capacity of 22,000, Rockin'1000 is currently selling 30% more tickets than the previous year. If last year's tickets sold out a week before the event, MOT is confident that by early August, they will achieve the same impressive results as they did in September.

With such high demand and an incredible lineup on the horizon, the Rockin'1000 event promises to be an unforgettable musical journey. For more insights on the membership program or the specific criteria for musician selection, be sure to check out their official website or get in touch with them directly.

The news of Rockin'1000's membership program has stirred controversy among some musicians, offering a six-month subscription for €75 or an annual one for €95, with benefits for those who choose to sign up. In line with the ambitious plans to fill the remaining 300 slots with Portuguese talent, entertainment news is buzzing about the potential rise of homegrown musicians in the upcoming Rockin'1000 event in Portugal.
