Over 250 Young Firefighters Earn Elite Badge in North Rhine-Westphalia

Over 250 young people from across North Rhine-Westphalia gathered in Wuppertal to showcase their skills and teamwork tips, earning the prestigious performance badge of the German Youth Fire Brigade. The event took place at the sports field Freudenberg and the university campus, drawing participants from 26 groups including Ascheberg, Bottrop, and Dormagen.

The young brigade members demonstrated a wide range of abilities, from extinguishing attacks and equipment handling to theory tests and physical fitness challenges. Each task was tackled as a group, highlighting the importance of teamwork in their training and operations.

The participants hailed from various cities and towns, including Dortmund-Berghofen, Duisburg, and Essen-Borbeck. Other represented locations were Güne, Kempen, Monheim am Rhein, Münster, Niederzier, Remscheid, Rheurdt, Rommerskirchen, Solingen, Velbert, Voerde/Hünxe, Werne, Wetter, Willich, and Wuppertal itself.

The successful completion of the performance badge tests marks a significant milestone for these young fire brigade members. Their dedication, skill, and teamwork have earned them this high honour, and they can now proudly display their achievements as they continue to serve their communities.
