In the dead of the night, Russian air defenses went berserk, zapping 162 Ukrainian drones out of the sky over various Russian localities. The Russian Ministry of Defense spilled the beans via a press release.
From 8:10 PM Moscow time on June 1 to 2 AM on June 2, our air defense heroes took out 162 of those pesky Ukrainian drones. - the statement reads.
Over the Kursk region, they popped 57 drones, over the Belgorod region - 31, over the Lipetsk region - 27, over the Voronezh region - 16. A dozen UAVs were knocked out in the Bryansk and Ryazan regions, six in the Oryol region, two in the Crimean Republic, and one in the Tambov region.
