Over 100 families benefit in PRC health caravan
A health caravan organised by the Philippine Red Cross–Zamboanga City Chapter took place in Guiwan on Monday, 22 December 2025. The event provided free medical services and support to 180 underprivileged families, marking the close of the chapter’s activities for the year.
The caravan offered a range of services, including health consultations, vaccinations, and first aid lectures. Blood typing, glucose testing, and volunteer recruitment were also available. Free haircuts and massages were provided by volunteers from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), while grocery packs and health kits were distributed to attendees.
Medical professionals at the event included Dr. Leeyhen Marie Baidiango and Dr. Fran Dagalea, who led consultations. Registered nurse Mylene Baidiango assisted alongside other volunteers, such as Julfa Pada, Bodelgardo Fernandez, Mitchel Columbres, Joy Araneta, and MJ Salapuddin. The initiative was made possible through partnerships with the City Health Office, TESDA, Guiwan Village Councilor Joel Liozo, Regine Saavedra, and Jacky Lim and Company. Local medical staff and Red Cross volunteers worked together to ensure the event ran smoothly.
The health caravan served as the final activity of the Philippine Red Cross–Zamboanga City Chapter for 2025. It delivered essential medical care, supplies, and training to families in need. Organisers confirmed that all planned services were successfully carried out during the event.
