Outdoor swimming pool in Ring-allee concludes its summer season
The Ringallee Baths in Giessen welcomed approximately 91,000 guests in 2025, according to Uwe Volbrecht, the director of Giessen baths. Despite the gloomy and cool summer weather, followed by rainy conditions in July, the baths managed to attract a substantial number of visitors.
However, the 2025 season did not break visitor records, with around 10,000 fewer visitors compared to the previous year. Uwe Volbrecht expressed satisfaction with the number of visitors, acknowledging the challenges posed by the unfavourable weather conditions.
The 'Play Your Game' City Day, held at the Ringallee Baths on June 29, 2025, saw around 4,500 visitors. Seven sports clubs from Giessen and the region participated in the event, which featured a variety of sports, fun, and action. Among the sports presented was Floorball, a mix of hockey and ice hockey.
In preparation for the upcoming closure, four outdoor fitness equipment will be installed on the grounds of the former mini-golf course. The Ringallee Baths will close on September 14, 2025, and will remain closed until the beginning of May 2026 for maintenance and repairs.
During the closure, the Ringallee indoor pool and the West Bath will be available for guests. For the latest information on opening times, courses, and entrance fees, visit www.giessener-baeder.de.
Despite the closure, the Ringallee Baths continue to make improvements, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for visitors when they reopen.
