The Wellesweiler Open Air, a much-anticipated annual metal and rock festival, is set to return to Neunkirchen-Wellesweiler, Germany, on August 8-9, 2025[1]. This event, known for its affordable drinks and lively atmosphere, transforms the Berthold-Günther-Platz into the epicenter of the Saarland's metal scene[2].

The festival is the brainchild of WW:O:A e.V., a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, who are driven by their passion for metal music[3]. The lineup for the 2025 edition promises a mix of high-caliber guests from the southwest, adding extra variety[4].

On the first day, Friday, visitors can look forward to the energetic performance of the tribute band "Screaming for Vengeance", bringing the spirit of Judas Priest to the stage[5]. On Saturday, the band "Metal Heart" will bring Accept classics to life[6].

The festival also offers a platform for four Saarland bands, including Bad Butler, Generation F., Savage Sentence, and Call Black Crows[7]. For those seeking more information about the "loudest network in the world", Metality, a non-profit metal organisation, will be on hand[8].

Nightrider Dennis Schäfer will also be on-site with KITT, collecting for a good cause[9]. Regional food and drinks will be available at fair prices throughout the festival, and merchandise stands will offer band shirts, CDs, and fan items[10].

Overnight guests can enjoy a convenient campsite right next to the festival grounds. To minimise waste, custom festival cups will be used for serving drinks[11]. The festival is a staple of the regional festival landscape, having started as a small idea among friends and metalheads[12].

Visitors can expect heavy riffs, pounding drums, and an authentic live atmosphere at the festival.
