Ostpro Sales Fair Returns to Berlin, Despite Rain and Long Queues
The Ostpro sales fair, a long-standing event celebrating East German nostalgia, returned to the Berlin-Karlshorst harness racing track over the weekend. Despite dreary weather on Sunday, hundreds of enthusiasts braved the queues to explore the fair's offerings.
The annual fair, organized by SCOT-Messen GmbH, ran from October 24 to 26, 2025, at the Pferdesportpark Karlshorst. Inside, visitors found a mix of products, from Harz region meats and Saxony-Anhalt socks that evoked East German heritage, to more contemporary items like Vorwerk’s Kobold vacuum cleaners and CBD oils and creams containing cannabis.
Vendors reported long wait times, with one estimating over an hour just to enter the fair. Despite this, crowds flocked to the event, browsing furniture, toys, and household goods. The fair has been held annually since 1991, making it a beloved tradition for many.
The Ostpro sales fair, now in its 35th year, continues to draw crowds eager to explore its unique blend of nostalgia and modern offerings. Despite the weather and long queues, the event remains a popular fixture in Berlin's autumn calendar.
