Billion-dollar: Mannheim's Osapiens becomes a 'unicorn' - Osapiens Becomes Germany’s First Unicorn of 2026 After $100M Funding Boost
Osapiens, a software company based in Mannheim, has become Germany’s first unicorn of 2026. The firm reached a $1 billion valuation after securing a major investment. Founded in 2018, it specialises in enterprise solutions for sustainability and operational efficiency.
The milestone arrived on January 14, 2026, when Osapiens closed a $100 million Series C funding round. Decarbonization Partners led the investment, pushing the company’s value past the $1 billion mark. This achievement makes it the first German unicorn of the year.
Osapiens was co-founded by Alberto Zamora (CEO), Stefan Wawrzinek (COO), and Matthias Jungblut (CPO). The company’s platform, known as the Osapiens Hub, integrates over 25 tools, including AI-driven automation features. These solutions help businesses streamline operations while tracking sustainability goals. With more than 500 employees, the firm now serves over 2,400 customers globally. Its software consolidates data and workflows into a single system, reducing complexity for large organisations.
The $100 million funding round has cemented Osapiens’ position as a leader in enterprise sustainability software. The company’s growth reflects increasing demand for tools that combine efficiency with environmental accountability. Its platform continues to expand as more businesses adopt integrated digital solutions.
