The Russian Orthodox Church's leader, Patriarch Kirill, has expressed his hope for improved relations with Pope Leo XIV in a congratulatory message after the latter's election. "I truly wish the relationship between our churches to prosper under your guidance," Patriarch Kirill shared on a recent Friday. A York to Moscow journey has yet to occur for any pope.
