Orlando Bloom questions the introduction of a female lead reminiscent of Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: 'I'm undecided about that'.

The world of Pirates of the Caribbean may be setting sail once more, as original cast members express their interest in a potential sixth installment of the beloved franchise.

First introduced in 2003's The Curse of the Black Pearl, the original trio of characters - Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Elizabeth Swann (Kiera Knightley), and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) - have captivated audiences for over two decades. Since their debut, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have grossed an impressive $4.5 billion worldwide.

The latest news comes from Orlando Bloom, who expressed his support for a reunion of the original cast at Fan Expo Chicago, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Bloom, who played Will Turner in the original trilogy, stated his interest in a great script for a potential sixth movie. His castmates, including Johnny Depp and Kiera Knightley, have also expressed similar sentiments.

Johnny Depp, known for his iconic portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow, is reportedly in talks to reprise his role in the possible sixth movie, provided the script negotiations for a suitable screenplay are successful. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has indicated ongoing talks with Depp, stating that Depp would consider returning if he likes how the role is written. The development of the screenplay is still ongoing, with Jeff Nathanson handling screenwriting duties.

While Disney initially showed interest in a more female-led Pirates reboot, starring Margot Robbie, later reports suggest that the studio has decided against it. However, Bruckheimer believes there's still room for both Pirates movies to exist.

The original trilogy of Pirates of the Caribbean movies included Dead Man's Chest (2006) and At World's End (2007). After the original trilogy, only Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow, continued in the series, appearing in On Stranger Tides (2011) and Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017). Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley made a brief appearance in the credits scene of Dead Men Tell No Tales.

As the script development for the potential sixth Pirates movie nears completion, fans eagerly await updates on whether the original cast will set sail once more on the high seas.
