Orion Protocol rebrands as Lumia with a new blockchain and token

Orion Protocol has rebranded as Lumia, marking a major shift in its technology and direction. The project has also moved away from Ethereum, launching its own blockchain called Lumia Chain. This change aims to improve performance and give the team full control over the platform's operations.

The rebranding includes a new native token, LUMIA, which replaces the old ORN token at the centre of the ecosystem.

Lumia's core function remains liquidity aggregation, acting as a decentralised hub for trading digital assets. The migration to Lumia Chain is expected to enhance efficiency and scalability compared to its previous Ethereum-based system.

The LUMIA token has already shown market movement following the transition. Its current market capitalisation stands at around 8.26 million EUR, with a 24-hour trading volume of 2.67 million EUR. Over the past day, the market cap rose by 1.94%, while trading volume surged by 55.72%. The token reached an all-time high of €2.26 on 4 December 2024 but later hit a low of €0.04757 on 10 October 2025.

The long-term success of Lumia will depend on growing its ecosystem. Plans include launching new decentralised applications and forming key partnerships to strengthen its position in the market.

Lumia now operates on its own blockchain, moving away from Ethereum to boost performance. The LUMIA token has replaced ORN and is central to the updated platform. Future growth will rely on expanding its network of applications and collaborations.
