In a significant move, St. Bonifatius Catholic Church in Wiesbaden has launched a comprehensive fundraising campaign for a new organ system. The cost of the project is estimated at 3.2 million euros, with the existing organ system in the church showing significant defects and high maintenance costs making its renewal no longer economically viable.

The international tender for the new organ was won by the renowned firm Klais. The new organ system, expected to first sound in 2029, will consist of a main organ on the balcony and a choir organ. It is designed to create a 'surround sound' effect, enhancing the spiritual experience for the congregation.

The parish has set up a donation account for the project, which can be found on their website. Citizens, businesses, and institutions are invited to support the new organ system. The parish can contribute 500,000 euros towards the project, and donors can sponsor organ pipes, with contributions ranging from 50 to 15,000 euros. An additional cost of 10,000 euros allows for an engraving on sponsored organ pipes.

Some parts of the existing organ system date back to the pre-war era, adding to the need for a replacement. The remaining 2.7 million euros for the new organ system requires donations and subsidies. The donors who will fund the organ register are not specifically named in the search results; donations can be made by supporters, and typically such funding comes from benefactors or communities associated with the organ or church involved.

Donations can be made anonymously or with acknowledgment. Details on donation options can be found on the parish's website. Two movable consoles will be included in the new organ system, further enhancing its versatility.

The parish decided on a new organ construction after considering all aspects. The new organ system at St. Bonifatius Catholic Church in Wiesbaden will have around 5,000 pipes.

The church encourages everyone to contribute to this noble cause and help bring the beautiful sound of music back to St. Bonifatius. For more information, visit the parish's website.
