Oregon Ducks Unite for Inaugural Day of Service Across Orange County
The Oregon Ducks recently launched their first Ducks Day of Service, bringing together over 150 employees for a day of community work. The team closed its offices to ensure full participation, with volunteers spreading across five local nonprofit sites. Each organisation was chosen for its alignment with the Oregon Ducks Foundation's core mission areas.
The event saw staff and corporate partners, including Wholly Guacamole/MegaMex, working alongside five key nonprofits. Volunteers supported Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, JMH/Love Anaheim, Discovery Cube Orange County, Farmhouse Friends, and Ronald McDonald House Orange County. These groups reflect the foundation's focus on health, education, and community welfare.
As part of the initiative, the Oregon Ducks Foundation also awarded each nonprofit partner a $10,000 grant. The foundation's philanthropic direction is guided by Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli, who have long championed charitable efforts in the region. The Day of Service was designed to deepen team bonds while creating a tangible difference in Orange County.
By dedicating an entire workday to service, the organisation reinforced its commitment to local causes. The involvement of corporate partners further expanded the event's reach, allowing more resources to be directed toward community needs.
