Operative accused of brandishing a knife towards a female individual
In Wuppertal, a 35-year-old man was arrested following a violent incident involving a knife. The incident took place late Sunday evening in an apartment, with the man's 27-year-old former partner as the suspected victim.
The man is said to have stolen a butcher's knife from a shop on Kaiserstraße in the Vohwinkel district of Wuppertal around 3:30 p.m. Shortly after, he reportedly attacked a random 32-year-old man, causing minor injuries.
The police were alerted to the situation through an acquaintance of the woman. Officers responding to a separate incident encountered the suspect near the Bruch suspension railway station. When he advanced towards them with the knife, they opened fire, seriously injuring him. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment and placed under provisional arrest.
The criminal police have taken over the further investigation into the incident. The man's condition is reported to be stable, and he remains under police guard until he can be discharged and brought before a judge. The investigation is ongoing.
