WSV Prepares for Exciting Home Match Against Sportfreunde Siegen
After a successful 3:1 win against SC Wiedenbrück, which saw the team climb out of the relegation zone, Wuppertaler Sportclub (WSV) is gearing up for their next challenge. This time, they will be hosting Sportfreunde Siegen at their home turf, the Stadion am Zoo, on Saturday, 20th September, at 2 PM.
Jeff Fehr, the striker, is making progress in his comeback, but other injured players are expected to remain out for a longer period. Despite this, the team is optimistic, with midfielder Dominic Duncan playing exceptionally well and set to be integrated further into the WSV team.
The referee for the upcoming match is Lukas Koch, with Nils Leichert and Jan-Philipp Schöneseiffen as his assistants. The opposing team, Sportclub Paderborn (SCP), currently coached by Łukasz Kwasniok, will be fielding their best lineup, posing a formidable challenge for WSV.
Thomas Bertels, the SCP coach, has expressed his desire to regain their dominant play at their stadium, while also warning that WSV's young team possesses a strong transitional game. Stefano Marino, SCP's top scorer with 4 goals, and Amin Bouzraa, WSV's winger with an equal goal count, will undoubtedly play key roles in the match.
WSV aims to earn at least one point in the match for table reasons and to promote their home game. The team is currently in 8th place in the table, having earned a total of 9 points so far, with a goal difference of 11:7.
However, the team is hoping for a better attendance than their last game, which saw only 1,241 fans despite a good performance against Wiedenbrück. The match against Sportfreunde Siegen presents an opportunity for WSV to showcase their skills and attract more supporters.
It's worth noting that the WSV lost 1:4 at home and 0:2 in Ostwestfalen against SCP's youth team last season. But with a new season and a determined team, the outcome this time around could be different.
The match between WSV and Sportfreunde Siegen is not expected to have a significant impact on the relegation zone. Nonetheless, it promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to prove their mettle.
