WSV Prepares for Tough Encounter Against Sportfreunde Siegen

The WSV is gearing up for an exciting home game against the surprise package, Sportfreunde Siegen, scheduled for 2 pm on 20th September at the Stadion am Zoo. The team, currently ranked eighth in the league, is aiming to secure at least one point in the upcoming match, not only for table reasons but also to promote their home game.

The WSV has so far collected a total of 9 points, with a goal difference of 11:7. Amin Bouzraa, a winger for the WSV, and Stefano Marino, the top scorer for the SCP team with 4 goals each, will be key players to watch.

Thomas Bertels, the SCP coach, aims to reclaim their dominant style of play at home. However, he warns that the WSV has a young team with a strong transitional game. The coach emphasizes the need to be more aggressive in front of the opponent's goal.

The SCP team has seen some changes this season. They strengthened their team by signing attacker Tigges from Köln and the 19-year-old goalkeeper Dennis Seimen on loan from VfB Stuttgart. However, the departure of key players like Zehnter, Ansah, and Grimaldi has resulted in a transfer surplus of 8.35 million euros, which suggests the squad may have weakened overall.

The WSV's personnel situation remains tense, especially with back-to-back second English weeks. Toshiaki Miyamoto, a defender for the WSV, served a suspension for a yellow-red card. Striker Jeff Fehr is working on his comeback, but other injured players are expected to remain out.

Lukas Koch will be the referee for the WSV's next match, assisted by Nils Leichert and Jan-Philipp Schöneseiffen. The attendance for the WSV's last match against SC Wiedenbrück was 1,241 fans, which was disappointing.

The Red-Blues left the relegation zone after a 3:1 win against SC Wiedenbrück. The WSV is hoping for a similar outcome against Sportfreunde Siegen to continue their climb up the league table.
