Two elk hunters, Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, aged 25, have been missing since early September 2020, near the New Mexico-Colorado border. The search for the missing hunters began on Saturday and is still ongoing.

The Conejos County Sheriff's Office is leading the search, with assistance from teams and volunteers from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Wyoming, and other states. The search is taking place in the wilderness area around the San Juan Wilderness Area west of Trujillo Meadows Reservoir.

The hunters' vehicle was found at the trail head by investigators, with camping gear and backpacks inside. This discovery has concerned authorities due to the heavy rain and bad weather that has hit the area. The hunters, however, were not found with the vehicle.

The search for the missing hunters was initiated by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife authorities. The Trujillo Meadows Reservoir, a 69-acre wildlife area, is located in the Conejos Region, as per the U.S. Forest Service.

On September 11, a major search operation began, involving air operations, multiple county and state teams, dog teams, drone teams, and volunteer teams. Despite these efforts, the hunters have not been found.

Meanwhile, a separate incident involving the shooting of Charlie Kirk has not been directly linked to the missing hunters' case. A suspect in the shooting, identified as Tyler Robinson, claimed he committed the act because Kirk 'spreads too much hate'. A video shows Robinson jumping down from a roof and making a getaway.

As the search for the missing hunters continues, the Conejos County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information to come forward. The safety and well-being of Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko remain the top priority.
